Let’s face it. Math gets a bad rap. Whether it’s the media, movies, television, books or even parents, math and math class are portrayed as boring, dull and unattainable. It’s our job as math teachers to change these perceptions and ideas that society pushes onto students. To teach them it’s okay to like math. It’s okay to struggle. That we are all “numbers people”. That they CAN solve problems.
