A little tidbit about me….

I grew up in the western mountains of Maine in a small, rural town. Where everyone knows not only your name but also can draw your entire family tree, blindfolded and standing on one leg.

I was lucky to be able to take advantage of opportunities to travel and study abroad during college and it was then that I fell in love with South America. After teaching just one year in Maine after graduation I decided to take the leap of faith and teach internationally.

Seven years later I am still teaching, living and taking WAY too many photos with alpacas in Quito, Ecuador. I feel very fortunate to be able to live each and every day by mixing together my biggest passions, travel and math education.

All of my years of teaching here in Ecuador have been at the middle school level. That’s where I belong. I am 100% a middle school teacher. I love the student’s awkwardness and quirky humor. I love being able to see their changes and growth as they struggle through these challenging pre-teen years. And most importantly ……. I love teaching math to this age group.
